Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate (Essential)
- Relevant vocational training in warehousing or logistics (Advantageous)
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse coordination, logistics administration, or operational support
- Exposure to a high-volume, fast-paced, shift-based warehouse environment (Preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound understanding of warehouse and freight operations in distribution/logistics
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to manage competing priorities under time constraints
- Clear verbal communication skills for internal and client feedback
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks continuously
Duties and Responsibilities
Freight Processing & Scanning
- Process freight accurately and within established operational timelines
- Scan, sort, and palletize freight according to company operational standards
- Conduct regular floor checks on unbooked freight and escalate discrepancies promptly
- Ensure all freight is correctly labeled and routed to the designated staging area
Loading & Offloading Operations
- Support loading and offloading operations aligned with linehaul schedules
- Assist in moving and placing pallets and freight across the warehouse floor
- Verify physical freight counts during loading and offloading to maintain data accuracy
Warehouse Floor Management
- Maintain operational workflow standards and warehouse cleanliness throughout the shift
- Prepare the warehouse floor for every operational cycle during shift changeovers
- Support operational requirements for key strategic accounts (e.g., Takealot, Amazon, Makro, and future clients)
Escalation & Compliance
- Immediately escalate damaged, missing, or unbooked freight to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Comply fully with health, safety, and mandatory PPE requirements at all times
- Report all incidents, personal injuries, or equipment malfunctions immediately
- Adhere to all operational instructions and directions issued by management
Self-Management
- Maintain high productivity standards across morning, midday, and closing operational windows
- Adapt flexibly to shifting freight volumes, client requirements, and shift rosters
- Demonstrate strong reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative team attitude
