Requirements
- Grade 10
- ABET or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic communication and interpersonal skills ( verbal and written)
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to safety policy. eg wearing PPE, risk assessment, Wet floors, safe use of equipment, report hazards, etc
- Infection prevention and control, e.g. standard precautions, the use of chemicals, color coding, etc
- Terminal cleaning process
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness of offices, classes, corridors, elevators and boardrooms
- Responsible for cleaning materials and equipment allocated
- Responsible for emptying and cleaning of dustbins, classrooms and seminar rooms
- Collect waste according to waste management policy
- Ensure the safekeeping of cleaning materials
- Check functionality and complete the inspection checklist of equipment
- Report broken cleaning equipment
- Clean equipment after use and store it dry in the allocated area
- Request cleaning materials and keep safe data sheets of the chemicals
