Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF 04
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience (Port operation experience is an added advantage)
- Relevant Certificate (Added Advantage)
OR
- Grade 10 / NQF02
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience (Port operation experience is an added advantage)
- Relevant Certificate (Added Advantage)
Position Outputs
- Clean operational equipment (such as ship-to-shore crane windows, crane cabins, etc.)
- Inspection of container condition
- Reefer monitoring operations
- Opening and closing of rail wagon twist-locks
- Loading, off-loading, and slacking of cargo in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Hooking/ unhooking
- Tarping/ untarping where applicable
- Place/ remove dunnage
- Cleaning of operational areas, rail trucks, plant, workshops, offices, sheds and ablution facilities as instructed
- Complete applicable documentation, i.e., accident reports
- Identification of correct cargo handling equipment/ gear
