Traffic Officer Provincial Government Learnership Programme 2026/2027. The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mpumalanga Province, invites applications for the Basic Traffic Officers Diploma Learnership, which aims to equip youth in Mpumalanga with knowledge and skills in Traffic Law Enforcement.

Requirements
- Minimum education qualification: Grade 12 Certificate
- At least a Code B driving licence
- South African citizen
- No criminal record
- Fit and proper (a medical assessment will be conducted for shortlisted candidates as proof of strenuous exercise)
- Candidates will be subjected to driving and competency tests
NB:
- The Department will comply with Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) guidelines during the selection process
- The traffic training will be conducted at the Mpumalanga Traffic Training College at Mkhuhlu (Calcutta) in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality
- The Department will conduct personnel suitability checks for selected candidates on the following key areas: qualification verification, criminal record checks, citizenship, financial records checks, and driving licence.
- Successful candidates will be expected to enter into a 12-month contract with the Department and, on completion, learners will receive a Diploma in Basic Traffic Officer: NQF 4
